Name: Antonio Hart
Primary Draconium Influence: Red
Secondary Draconium Influences: White, Blue, Light-Green. Black
Occupation: Healer or "Alley Doctor"
Description: Antonio is a leering, scruffy and languid man. But even though he can smell of drink and be quite drunk at times he always has a perpetual scruffy charm about him, that women just seem to eat up. He has a lopsided grin, clear green eyes and blonde-brown hair that is too long to be considered well-cut and too long to be tied into a tail.
He wears practical and simple clothing, which is stitched with colourful pockets that carry an array of different instruments and medicines. He often smells of mead or pond water, the latter the result when Watcher tosses his sorry ass into the river to get him sober.
Beneath his clothing his skin is marred with faint scars. He often helps criminals, and some, who think he might blab to the cops, try to silence him once and for all. Antonio luck has always gotten him the upper hand , but he often wonders when his last fight will be. After all he has to be lucky all the time, they only need to be lucky once.
When he is sober is kind, laughing, teasing and very flirty. With patients he is understanding, concerned but always firm. His methods have been called unconventional, contradictory and quite mad. But what ever they may call it, it always works, and for him that's all that matters. He has a sense of strong justice and hates it when poor people are being oppressed, though he has little power to stop it.
He loves to flirt as well, and often enjoys the company of women when he doesn't feel like drinking, though he never tries to keep up a relationship for long. The women are usually heartbroken, but he is well known for sneaking out in the middle of the night or at the crack of dawn and simply disappearing. He gives false names so women can't find him, and that suits him perfectly fine.
Working in his free-clinic is stressful and depressing and when it gets too much he goes off to one of the pubs and starts to drink. When he is drunk he becomes bitter and angry, often violent as the frustrations and personnel fears boil to the surface. Watcher often carries him home; passed out or yelling obscenities. But the next morning he wakes up, hungover hurting and sad, but always goes back to the clinic to help those who need it.
He used to live in Firestalk with his father, where he was enrolled in the Tunnel Scouts, a dangerous but thrilling job. But Antonio had never been one for adventure, all he wanted was to chase the pretty girls, and enjoy their hospitality. When his father forced him to join the scouts he did so only to get the old man off his back, and to his great surprises he quite enjoyed it.
Rogan, his scout leader was a very old warrior, and had been a scout for almost forty years. He was a legend of his time, as the Tunnels was one of the most dangerous places in the Deserts, filled with hydrags and other nasty beasts. Antonio quickly found himself drawn to the man, seeing him as an idol and someone to aspire to, and Rogan, in his own way to a shine to the lad.
The years passed and in that time Antonio learned how to defend himself and how to kill hydrags or stop bandits. He learned how to survive with little food, how to tap the land for water and how keep others alive. But it wasn't until Rogan's party was attacked by Hydrags that Antonio found his true calling.
The party had gone out on the routine mission, but deep in the tunnels they stumbled across a nest with no less than 32 Hydrags, it was a freak of nature, no hydrag group had ever been that large. Rogan and Antonio had fought hard but Rogan was wounded, and the remaining scouts ran out with him, sealing the tunnel behind them.
Antonio watched with cold detachment as his hero and friend fought to survive during the ride, the scouts using what little knowledge they had to save him, but by they time they reached Firestalk it was far too late. The following weeks would see Antonio learning everything he could on medicine, feeling if he had done something else his friend would still be alive.
The years passed and Antonio became the unofficial healer of the scouts. He would never be Rogan, but his fame for charging into the line of fire to save his allies was renowned, and his ability to pull men back from the dead was astonishing. But even though he felt he was doing good, he felt tired. He was tired of seeing good men die, of seeing his friends corpses, and knowing he hadn't been there to stop it, and so finally, after twelve years of working with the scouts he quit.
His father, surprisingly wasn't that angry, he reprimanded him for leaving, but he never pressed his son to return, seeing the hurt and exhaustion from years of fighting. He instead gave his son a good dragon, hoping a change would do him good, but he refuses, saying "Watcher has watched my back for a long time, two watchers might forget about me,"
He left only a month later, picking a road and riding away from his home city. He reached Dragon City six months later, and when he did he was met with disease from the soot and illness from little sunlight. He knew these ailments well as Firestalk was riddled with them, and feeling a sense of kinship he set up a free clinic for those in need.
His father, ins his way, is proud of him, but he never truly says so and yet Antonio doesn't mind. The work is hard, the money isn't much but he couldn't wish for a more full fulling job.
Bone Color: Red
Watcher is a large and powerful Red Draconium dragon. He is a dark blood red with patterns of bright red running over his body like flames, the tips are white, as are the markings on his face. Twin slicer like horn protrude from his head and black linings around his shocking red eyes give the impression of a dinosaur devil. His tail has a large fin on top which is black, to make it easier for him to make sharp turns.
His body is built powerful, muscled but very lean and lithe, making him extremely fast and agile. He walks on two legs, and they too have fins for balance and quick turns. Like Antonio he has faded scars that run up and down his body, but these were revived during his twelve years in the tunnels.
He is a quiet one, thinking and curious about the world around him. His name was given to him when he was but a pup, as only three days after his birth they found the young dragon standing perfectly still and watching a small drag-squirrel eating a nut. So captured was he that even when they called for food he nary looked up.
He watches, learns and tries to understand. This curiosity has gotten himself and Antonio into quite a few pickles, but it hasn't deterred his learning spirit yet. As a dragon he is cool under pressure and listens well to his rider, as in the tunnels a second of hesitation could spell death. To Antonio he is both a mount and friend. He watches out for his friend and hates it when he drinks, but understands his riders need for it. He watches out for his rider, and tries to comfort him when he needs it, and more often than not his offers are accepted.
To other dragons he is quiet, calculating and comes across as rude because he rarely speaks. This is because he has a speech impermanent. He lisps and he is very self-conscious about it, so he rather keeps his mouth shut and let's the others do the talking.
He was given to Antonio at the young age of fifteen by the scouts. Antonio had been sixteen at the time, and they both saw each other as a dragon and a rider. Nothing special they simply accepted that they would be together for a while.
But Antonio's humour quickly grew on Watcher, and he often found himself laughing at the rider, enjoying his company and his good spirits. It wasn't long before they became quite a team, and the scouts seeing the bond the two shared, gave Watcher to Antonio. Antonio was a little apprehensive but Watcher wanted to prove himself to his new and funny rider.
After Rogan died Watcher became a physical and mental support to Antonio, and he made sure to be there for him through everything, and when Antonio finally left the city, Watcher was happy to follow him, not only because he was his dragon but so that he keep an eye on someone he no considered as a friend.
