The current FAQ is short...ish. As time passes and more people start to ask questions it will be expanded. These are only questions we thought new players would ask. For those who have never seen Dragon Booster or who have never been on this site go to: Dragon Booster Fan Site, it will bring you up to date on what the show was about.GENERAL

» What is Dragon Booster?

» Is Dragon Legends the same?
Yes and no. Though we are in the same universe as Dragon Booster the story in Dragon Legends takes place about 3000 years ago during the First Dragon-Human war. There are races but we are focussing more on the wars and politics of the time. NOTE: There is no ACADEMY in Dragon legends, as the academy was built AFTER this war.
» What are the rules for Dragon Legends Forum?
All rules can be found here.
» What are Booster/Furox/Draconium/Draconis/Classes/League of Eight etc.
All of these words and descriptions can be found in the Dragon Booster Lexicon. Please make sure to read through it to avoid any confusion or uncertainty.STORY FAQ
» So what is the story about?
The Dragons have been 'enslaved' by humans. The humans have used them for thousands of years to build their empires and their armies. But now there is word of people going against this, of people wanting to free dragons.
There is animosity between the Black and Gold Empire due to an incident on a trading bridge. One of the Lords of the Black Empire is meeting with the leader of the Gold, and a lot of people are a bit nervous about it. The tension has become thick, and everyone has their own opinions of what this meeting could mean.
Also a large storm has brought the trading routes to a standstill, and the tensions are only rising.
For more information regarding the plot please read the Draconian Times where all news about draconis will be posted.
» Where are the League of Eight? Furox? Samurox?
They will be coming in soon. Currently we are just at the beginning of the war. During the course of the game they will be revealed and added.
» You say you stick to Canon, but what is the Dawn War? And the rest of the weird stuff in the History?
We did try to stick to Canon but so little is really known about the history of that era that we added and slightly modified some events. This was only to enhance game-play.
» Are the Empires at War?
No, not yet. The Empires are still in general peace.GAMING FAQ
» What are 'Missions' and 'Jobs'
Missions are small plots that drive the bigger story forwards. Jobs are more like everyday quests that will earn you money. The Missions are created and monitored by Staff Members. They are basically pre-designed Role-Plays that only let a certain number of characters into it. Upon completion they offer gear, drakkals (money) or renown in certain cities. Jobs are much the same except they are started by players not moderators, and they can pay a lot more or less depending on the player who started it.
» Can I start my own Mission?
No, but you can start your own job! Which is the same except it's not monitored by a moderator, but rather by the player who started it. For more information on this please go to the Jobs page.
» How can I jump into a Job?
You just post. But bear in mind that if you want to help with the Job you might not even get rewards, and most people don't like it if you do. If you are trying to just help-out a friend in need, by all means jump-in and jump back out. It is usually not a hindrance but as a rule just check with the creator of the Job or Thread, it is considered good manners.
» So why do it if people might not like it?
To play the bad-guy of course! That's usually the point! Jumping into jobs usually involve trying to rob, kill or assassinate the client or the employees. It makes the game interesting and makes it a bit more challenging for the players.
» Assassin's? I want to be one!
Only higher ranked players can play assassins. They are usually invited by the leaders of the cities to kill an NPC. Yes, players can be on their hit lists as well, if they make too much trouble. The thread where the assassination mission is posted is password protected and only Assassin's can enter. And, before you ask, it is not encouraged to share the information, but it is not forbidden. If you are spying on the opposing faction and you give the information to your 'real' boss then that's called espionage. But keep in mind, if you're caught you will lose your Assassin's rank, you will be branded, and the assassin's may make you their next target.
» Only three empires are available for play, does that mean I can only play Draconium colors from those Empires?
Not at all! Dragon City itself hosts many, many different breeds of dragon and the population is made up of all the different kinds of people from all the other Empires. This is only temporary and the other empires will be open for play very soon.CHARACTER FAQ
» How many characters can I have?
Currently there is no limit. Just make sure you can keep up with them!
» How do I create a new Character?
You can create a character in Chracter Registration.
» Can I make a new Class?
No. The reason for this is simple; if one person makes an original class, the next one wants to make one too, and the next one and the next one and on it goes. Eventually we have over 50 or a hundred classes and it's just one big mess. So, for now, just stick to the original classes, please.
» Can I have a Gold/Grey/Orange dragon?
Yes and no. Semi-Gold, Grey and Orange can only be made by Veterans (although, if you ask real nice and show you are mature enought to handle them, we might allow you to have one). There are also no Orange hybrids of any kind!
» Can I be a Booster?
Yes! In the Original Show they stated that there were only 5 Boosters. However in this game we will allow all Empires to eventually have Booster dragons. You become a Booster by being friends with empires and they bestow it upon you as a gift. (these are character gifts, not player gifts )
» If I have a blue-dragon, can I join the red Empire?
Yes, any dragon can become part of any empire.
» NEW! Can my character be in more than one RP at a time?
Yes. In Dragon Legends Liquid time is now allowed. But please keep in mind this does not count for jobs or missions, and as with all things, refrain from abusing it or we will have to put restrictions up.
» What happens to inactive characters?
They are moved to the character archives after three months of inactivity. If the owner should return the character may be resurrected.
» How many posts do I need to .... Rank?
Here's a list of the ranks and their post count:
- 0-49 - New Recruit
- 50-149 - Foot Soldier
- 150-349 - Trained Sargent
- 350-699 - Fearless Sentry
- 700-1499 - Seasoned Veteran
- 1500-2999 - Old Warrior
- 3000-5999 - War Hero
- 6000 - ? ? ?BATTLES FAQ
» How does the Battle System work?
Small and large Battles are won or lost by good Role-Play and good Strategy. Gear do factor in of course but mostly in smaller battles the players decide how it goes. Only Large scale and 'Official' battles are monitored by staff members to ensure some fairness. They are decided by dice, and are constantly monitored and often guided by Staff Members, this too ensures equality and prevents arguments from breaking out. For more information go to the Battle Guide.
» Can anyone join a battle?
Yes and no. Fights usually start in Missions so depending on the Mission it will decide if you can or can not join. As a general rule just check with the creator of the thread if its okay before jumping in guns-a-blazing.
» Why do I have gear if the outcome is decided by RP and Strategy?
Firstly because gear gives you the edge you need to actually make strategies, and secondly because it does give you extra dice to roll during battle. Without gear you are at a sore disadvantage.
» Can I die in Battle?
Only if you want to really. Players don't have control over your character and you don't have control over theirs. That is called Power-Playing and it is a no-go in Role-Playing.
» Can I start my own Battle?
There isn't a 'start battle' template. Instead Battles start during a Job or Mission or Plot. So if you want to start a battle you'll have to go through a job or you can start a Role-Play and get people to join-up.ARMOR FAQ
» What is the key difference between Armor and gear?
Armor is full body and enhances a single attribute of the entire dragon. Gear is a single piece that can be added to the dragon to give extra strength, speed, and fire power of weaponry. Armor can not be created. It is something that must be bought or earned. Gear is much more common and can be acquired through creation. Here is Armor Guide.
» Where can I buy Booster armor?
Nowhere. Booster Armor is given to riders and dragons that have proven themselves worthy to an empire. The empires bestow it as a gift and it symbolizes not only your worth but also that you stand with that empire now.
» But what if I don't like the Empire?
Then you can decline the armor or take it and join the other side. Just be aware that they won't give you another armor type all that easily a second time.
» How many pairs of Armor can I own?
As many as you can get. But a dragon can only wear one armor type at a time. Armor might not always be given to you, they can also be found on missions or jobs.GEAR FAQUpdated
» Where can I get gear?
At this time, all gear is created by players. You can find all the available gear in Gear Accepted page. If, you do not find what you are looking for in there, you can make your new gear in the Gear Creation page, using the template in there.
» Does it cost anything to make gear?
Nope, gear creation costs nothing at this point.
» Does it cost anything to copy gear?
That depends on if you are its creator. The gear's creator can make as many copies of their gear they want. If, you want a copy of someone else's gear, you have to purchase it.
» How much does it cost to purchase gear?
- Low - 150 drakkals.
- Medium - 300 drakkals.
- High - 600 drakkals.
- Elite - 1200 drakkals.
» How many pieces of gear can I own?
As Many as you want! But keep in mind that each dragon can only mag a maximum of five pieces of gear at one time. When equipped with armor this goes up to six, as armor usually adds an extra slot.
» How does armor and gear purchases work?
Very simple: go to the gear or armor page. Start a new thread with your armor you want to buy or gear you want to copy. A moderator will come and post 'accepted', remove the drakkals and you're good to go. Gypsy Market works exactly the same way.
» Do I need Permission to copy the gear?
No. All gear created can be copied as many times over by other players as they want, as long as, you purchase it.
» If I make a gear piece and it gets copied, do I get paid for it?
Yes, gear you created gets copied, then you get the amount the players paid to copy it. This is only valid for YOUR gear obviously.
» What is the Gypsy Market?
The Gypsy market is a place where you can have any gear modified into something new or more powerful. The Link can be found here.DRAGON FAQ
» NEW! Can Humans and Dragons talk to Each other?
As a general rule; no they can't speak to each other. But there are exceptions. Orange dragons have found a means to communicate in human language using human victims. Black Dragons are focussed on the mind, and some have claimed they can 'feel' the dragon read their mind and vice versa. The highest class of dragon, the Elites, are the only dragons who can definitely 'talk' to their rider and have the rider understand them in turn.
But you're questions is; Can MY dragon talk to MY character? And the answer is; it depends. If you want to be able to understand dragons you have to come up with a good, interesting and very logical reason. We won't accept "All her life she was able to understand dragons" we want good explanations, as the chances of someone actually understanding a dragon is VERY rare.
HOWEVER: All dragons can understand WRITTEN LANGUAGE from a rider.
» Are there hybrid dragons?
NEW! - Yes there are, they do not have bone-marks and they can only mag basic armor types. Booster Armor can only be used by 'Pure Bred' dragons.
» What are Primary and Secondary colors?
Humans, like dragons, have some draconium in their bones as well, albeit in far more minute quantities than dragons. The primary influence refers to the main color of draconium in the bones.
In most cases in the show, it seems that primary influences reflect your dragon's draconium color. There is only one primary influence.
Secondary influences are usually the three or four most prevalent draconiums in the human's bones, next to the primary influence, of course. Like a primary influence, secondary influences are also colors found in the human's own bones. These, however, are less common in the human's bones than the primary influence.
» Doesn't gear drain my Draconium-Levels?
Yes, but we don't really place much focus on this. You as the player should use your own discretion in deciding how much each attack takes from your dragon.
» I have a white dragon; does that mean I can't use blue draconium gear?
As put by Rob Travino:
"In "The Choosing" Connor said that Beau can "fully" magnetize and use all gear. Dragons of any color can mag any gear but the gear is far more powerful if the dragon is of the same or complimentary color."
"All dragons can use white sledding gear, it's just that it works better and much more efficiently, (meaning your dragon can power it for longer) if the dragon is of the same of secondary color."Any other concerns please PM one of the staff Members, we're always eager to help!
