The escence of the roar simmered down, creating a a soft yet powerful haze within the hearts of all the dragons who had heard the song. Hundreds of hybrids, reds, whites, blacks and all the bones one could think of came from a far. Each with a power, each with a purpose, but all to stand and fight.

A new age had begun.... the age of the dragon.

Gazes stared up at the golden one, inspired by her beauty and power, her glorious stance, her amazing markings, she will be the one to lead them to victory. There had fallen an eerie silence across the lands, as the dragons awaite-

"Oy!"

As the dragons awaite-

"You! You with the face!"

Every single head turned from the magnifecent beast to find what was the cause of the strange disturbance, but nothing could be found. What dragon would be stupid enough to-

"Down 'ere ye numbskull!"

The eyes turned downwards.

He was small, pretty darn small for a dragon, he was purple... and orange.... a hybrid and he seemed to be quite an angry little tyke. The small dragon snorted as he stomped his way to the front of the group, finally he stopped and glared with full force at the golden dragon.

"Yeah I'm talkin' te you!" he was holding a very angry stance, his eyes flaring with a burning flame; the scene would have been very intimdating, if it wasn't so very.... sad.

"Whacho tryin' ter wake me up fer, with yer roaring and yer silliness, eh?" he waved a paw dramaticly, "I was actually enjoyin me sleep when you roared that silly li'le song of; freedom? Rejoice? What type a absolute nonsesne are ye tryin' ter pull ye overgrown newt?"

The small purple dragon was fuming by this stage, his nostrill flared dangerously, too bad he was about half the size of the dragon he was trying to intimidate. Yin and Yang tilted their heads softly to the side as the small fry continued his verbal assault on their leader, this was becoming very ridiculous, very fast.

"This is no place..."

"For children!"

Purple eyes glared at the two sky-classes, "Ah shut-up, ye bleached lizards!"

Yin and yang opened thier mouths, no sound escaped, they frowned , tried again, but was met with the same silence. They settled for glaring at the small dragon as evily as they could untill something else at least happened.

"Tha's better," the small dragon turned back to the golden one, "Now you take yer heart rendering, soul bearin' nonsense and shove it where the sun don' shine or I'll do it for ye! Why are you roarin all this nonsense anyway? World peace and a be'er place fer all dragon kind?" The small dragon rolled his eyes dramaticly, "Bloody rubbish if he ask me! How do you plan on fightin' a world of bein's tha' 'as gear, technology and the power of the world at their finger tips!"

He did seem rather pleased with himself, just a pity that most of the other dragons started laughing at the whole thing. The purple dragon glared dangerously at the other dragons, but this only intensified their laughter. He clenched his teeth and forcefullly stared at the golden one, awaiting her answer.

His patience wore thin and soon his gaze darted around the dragons who surrounded him, he stared at them as if drinking in every single detail he could find. "Yer no more than fifty dragons, they've got weapons and things only a bloody idiot'll dream of attackin', they stand together like nobodies buisness, if one of them screams, everyone comes runnin', so how do you plan on defeatin' them?" his eyes narrowed, "How do you plan on defeating the world?"

Some laughter remained, but others started to simmer down, the small cretin was a bloody joke, but some of his words did seem to make sense.

Steel's eyes narrowed at the small dragon, he never much cared for other dragons and this one will be no different, with a sly smile playing on his lips and moved forwards, his eyes gleaming with a wicked glint.

Shall I? Or shall I not? The little pest seems to have a point, but at the same time seems to be a rather nuiscance.... now the questions begs my comrade... shall I tear you limb from limb... or leave you for the golden dragon to rip you apart?

The black dragon paused in his movements, a sudden spark of sadiscm streaking through his darkened eyes. He stopped a few feet away from the purple dragon.

When the golden dragon... or the others have torn you apart... I shall feast on you.

He chuckled.

Dinner and a show!

In my dream, the world had suffered a terrible disaster. A black haze shut out the sun, and the darkness was alive with the screams of wounded people. A candle flickered into life, a symbol of hope for millions. A single tiny candle shining in the ugly dark. I laughed, and blew it out.

Kapturr was focused in his task, his ears were swivelling and he was swinging his head to and fro, nose and eyes working hard trying to take in his surroundings. He lacked a lot of the skills wild dragons taught their pups. But there was one thing he'd had to learn quickly on the streets, and that was the difference between the scent of a dragon just passing through and a territorial marker. From that he eventually learned how to tell how old a scent was. He could tell some dragons had passed by some single dragon sized caves in the last few days, but hadn't stuck around. Beside him, he saw the white draconium dragon Wyrl matching his driven stride but not taking the work seriously. ‘This won't do.' He thought as he sharply nipped the other dragons' shoulder. The Sky-class yelped and instinctively scuttled a few steps away.
"What was that for?" He growled.
"Wyldzerra said to search for caves and what lives in them. You're not searching!"
Looking bored, Wyrl used an outcropping of rock to scratch his lower jaw before responding. "She's not here. We're safe."
"Wyldzerra didn't say we could rest! She's the leader and we do what She says."
Wyrl snorted. "Purple-bones ... hardly an individual among the lot of you. Do we need her say-so to piss?"
The sarcasm soared far over Kapturr's head, he thought Wyrl was getting the right idea by asking. After all, he had only relieved himself where and when his owners had said it was okay. "Of course we do! We'd be in a lot of trouble if we did it when we weren't allowed." He bobbed his head up and down, a gesture from the humans he'd adopted when he'd figured out it meant ‘good, yes, okay' or ‘approval' of a behaviour.
"C'mon, let's go!" His mind dropped back into ‘work mode', just like that, and he set off again.

The Sky-class was being lazy again. ‘What do I do' he wondered in the very small part of his mind not totally focused on looking around. ‘He's being bad, he's not doing what he was told.' He stuck his head in a fairly large cave, noting the scents of a dragon and hydrag that hadn't been there for at least a week before he pulled his head out again. Marking the wall beside the entrance so he would know how where to find this place of interest again when Wyldzerra wanted to see it for Herself; because he was sure She would, She was the leader and She wanted a roof over the heads of the pack. The cave had looked large enough.
He caught sight of Wyrl from the corner of his eye, and it made him remember what that little part of his mind had been thinking about before he, not Wyrl, had found the cave. What should he do? Or, much more importantly, ‘What would Wyldzerra do?'. Kapturr cast his mind back to when he'd heard the roar earlier that day.

He looked up as a roar echoed through Old City. It didn't belong to Zyppr, the local pack leader, it was much stronger. And it brought forth the memory of what the two racers of the older brother had told him as the butler led him past the stables.
"There are wild dragon packs out there. Find a strong pack leader to take you in."
"The pack will look after you."
Kapturr followed the roar and was witness to a female orange dragon, radiating power and leadership, as she put Zyppr down. Forever.
He knew She, Wyldzerra, was the one. He would obey Her, and She would protect him.
"...I am your leader now, I will be obeyed! I do not tolerate weakness and any who show it will be culled!" He understood culling, his dam and sire told him it was for the best of the bloodline, to prevent the weak and disease prone from breeding. Wyldzerra had not only their survival in mind, but the survival of the next generation. "The world you're now in is mine, and not only do I kill those in my way, I take no prisoners! The same is expected of all of you!"
Then a female brown draconium dragon had interfered, had dared insinuate Wyldzerra was wrong! Had disobeyed, and been punished. "This is what disobedience and weakness bring! The knowledge that your corpse will nourish the strong! And the strong are those that listen to their leader! And I am your leader!" Wyldzerra had taught him something important, among wild dragons, not obeying your leader meant death. It made sense, if a dragon didn't listen to the leader, then they were stupid, weak of mind. That was not something any smart human or dragon wanted to be passed on.

He looked at Wyrl again, cleaning his scales, disobeying Her. She had said She expected all of them to follow Her rules. To disobey was to be weak, the weak had to be culled.

Keiko looked around the plain uneasy, an emotion he rarely showed in his line of duty as a police dragon. He could tell there was something definitely going on, something bad.

"Lt. Shein! What`s the situation?" Asked one of the five police officers that arrived on blue boned. Four more arrived shortly. A backup Shein called for.

"Hard to tell. There seems to be a large gathering of dragons far to the West of here, and not too long ago there was what sounded like a battle cry. They are preparing for war," answered Shein.

"If they are, what do you suggest for us to do?"

"For now? Wait...we have to keep DCS informed. Let our people know to secure the key areas of the city, where dragons are most likely to strike. But if they were to strike, we need every able man, woman and dragon to help defend the city. It is not going to be pretty."

"We could really use a Dragon Booster right about now..."

"Aye...but he is not here, and it is up to us to stop this. Whichever way we can."

*An unsettling silence fell over a small group of police officers and their dragons. At times they could see a feral dragon pass in the distance, or an occasional roar from somewhere to the west. But other than that, it was quiet. Too quiet.

A calm before the storm...

A wild dragon stood on the side of the gathering of dragons, listening to the tiny angry orange-purple newt. She listened through the whole speech, then burst out in laughter, a calm, unassertive, yet arrogant laugh, with a hidden kind of malicious. She never got angry, or fierce, yet power emanated from that laugh, a strange, twisted kind of power.

She stopped just as suddenly and glared at the tiny creature, then walked towards it, moving past the other dragons. Although a sky class, her scales were different shades of beige rather than white, the way sand looked at dusk. A trait of orange-boned that was one of her ancestors. Two tall sharp spikes rose vertically up on both sides of her head, while her tail held an arsenal of long and short spikes she opened and closed as she walked. It seemed to be a rather formidable weapon.

Her name was Quicksand.

She stopped in front of the tyke, next to the psi-class who had an air of power around him. They exchanged a short glance, but even in a moment they knew they shared something in common. A desire to to follow their own rules, lead their own life. Trust no one, depend on no one. Just be their own path.

Steel`s eyes met Quicksand`s, and he watched her for a moment. She seemed not to notice and returned her attention to the dragon that dared to insult their leader.

"Which side are you on? Will you stand against your own kind? This war was long coming, dragons knew that. Humans brought upon themselves the wars of the past, and kept on doing the same mistakes. It was only a matter of time until dragons rose against them. It is not their world, it is ours, and will rightfully be so."

She`ve spoken her mind, even though she cared not to explain herself to some low-life. Her gaze pierced the tiny creature, as if going through, only seeing the ground he was standing on. She slashed her tail and roared, calling for others to join in her call for this to become their world. The world they rule without sharing the power. The world that belonged to dragons, and that will become theirs once more.

(Ok on the show I have seen slim light blueish turquoise dragon aswell the big lime turquoise one, but I'm using the former.)

The slim turquoise Dragon swifted his way through the crowd using his sleak and tiny bone structure, he was extremely thin as his scaley skin wrapped around his sharp and svelt skeletal structure. The large grin across his face as he made his way up towards the leader, the gold Dragon, the one who would lead this revoloution.

He lay before the gold Dragon and bowed as low as possible, his belly to the dirt to show his respect.
"My lady, allow me to introduce myself. I am Kraft and I was inspired by your commanding words. You wish ill of humans and I am here to throw myself upon you, I too loathe the creatures known as humans and wish their removal from OUR planet! I a master tactician and have used my skills in many battles to win them and crush the enemies, I am known the master of strategy and I wish to offer you my services with my mind to help you eliminate the humans. Please allow me to serve under you and do your will and help your awesome power to win this war and bring the new age you spoke of!"
He spoke in a completely humble, subservient and unpretentious manner as he showed his complete submissiveness.

Continuing to stay lay down upon the ground in respect to show he was willing to serve her.

(This is my NPC character I said I was gonna bring in, a big kiss up Dragon to serve in the army but super evil and smart.)

HDHX-3000 was on the move, sort of his maiden voyage, heading towards the place where is twin sibling met her death. He smiled wickedly as he thought about how he was planning to repay both the black and red for her death, when something caught his attention. The scent of dragons, a lot of them and different kinds, although, orange seem to dominate. There was, also, something else, another scent he did not recognize, but he has scented it before. After much searching it came to him. It was similar to the scent from the ancient gold draconium machines, but much stronger. He came to a complete stop and stared in the direction the scent was coming from in unbelief.

Could it be?! A gold-boned still alive?! Dr. Maniags will, definitely, want to know about this!

He activated several pieces of equipment implanted throughout his body, importantly, the communication gear and the visors implanted in his eyes.

An incessant beeping from the main console drew Dr. Maniags' attension. He rolled his chair up to it and activated the console. A wall full of screens came to life monitoring such things as vital signs, the level of mag-energy store in cells though out his body and what HDHX-3000 was seeing at the time. Seeing he had not reached the den of the black and red, he activated the com-link.

"Yes 3K?"

After a moment a screen in the lower right corner displayed 'many many dragons'. It was a crude but, somewhat effective way for 3K to communicate back to Dr. Maniags.

"A large number?"

'Yes . . .'

Vyctor paused and leaned forward as he saw the three dots, that usually meant 3K was deep in thought or puzzled about something. Vyctor's brow raised when the next word was displayed - 'gold?'.

"You sense gold-boned dragon?!"

'Yes?'

Vyctor had to pause to take it all in.

The legendary gold appearing now?! This could be very significant!

"3K, a change of plans. We will deal with those two later, for now I need to know what that gold-bone is doing here and why."

The screens went dead as 3K disconnected from his side. Dr. Maniags pursed his lips in deep thought

After 3K, as Vyctor called him, turned off the com-link, he swing to follow the scent, excited to the possibilities.

(( As always - if you do not want 3K we can kill him off. I hope to get Herzfeuer involved, at least as a NPC, until he is registered. ))

Eventually the roar faded away as Shori ran out of breath. She looked around, pleased. Many dragons had gathered around her already, and she could see many more on their way. That roar had been a great help, but a great risk too. It was likely to draw unwanted attention to her and the army she was amassing. There was nothing to be done about that though; it was impossible to completely conceal the army…for now. Once they managed to tame the honeycomb of underground caves their enemies would be hard pressed to find and reach them, even with the assistance of gear.

Not long after the last echoes of her roar died a disturbance from below caught Shori’s attention. A small dragon was actually reprimanding her. Unfortunately, some of what he said made sense. They were issues that needed to be dealt with, as was his disrespect. Shori had half a mind to tear him apart, but the other half of her mind wanted to hear what other problems he might catch that she didn’t. Besides, there were worse things than death. A better punishment would be for her to outsmart the little runt, demoralize him. It would help to solidify her position as leader of the dragons gathered around.

For a minute Shori just stood there, her intense gaze burning into the little dragon’s as she thought. Clever or not, his insolence could not and would not be tolerated. “No one,” she began coldly, “said you had to come. You could have stayed wherever you were and gone right back to sleep. The fact is that you chose to come here. Whether or not you are happy with that decision, do not blame others for it. I see respect and common sense are two things you have in short supply. You dare speak to me in such a manner, in front of so many who support me. Even if I didn’t care how you spoke I see several who would gladly tear you apart. I am tempted to let them or to do it myself; however, you bring up a good point about the humans and I have a better punishment in mind. If you are dead, you can suffer no longer, so instead I shall keep you alive…although you will not like it.

“It is true that there are many humans and that they do posses technology and gear. Much if not all of it requires draconium energy to work, however and all of it carries at least a small trace of draconium. We can manipulate draconium using our mag energy, or have you forgotten? Much good the humans’ gear will do them when they cannot control it! Besides, most of their gear is designed for dragons to use. Before this army does any fighting it will do covert operations: spying, recruiting, stealing. The humans and their dragons will have gear and so will we. It will be a simple matter for a few dragons to steal some of their precious gear, a little at a time. We will take their own power and turn it against them!” Her voice has risen to a roar as she spoke of stealing and using the humans’ gear against them.

Fire burned brightly in her eyes as she glared at the small hybrid. “There are many humans,” she continued, “and they have dragons to serve them. There are also many of us, and we do not rely on gear and technology to win our battles. One-on-one a dragon can tear apart many, many humans with little effort. Once we take away their big advantage, they will fall to our superior strength and intelligence. You also forget that although there are many humans in this world, there are many dragons, perhaps even more than humans. Besides, as you said, their strength is in numbers. If we break them apart and isolate them they will not stand a chance. There is much to do however; I do not have the time or patience to continue arguing with you. You want me to shove my words where the sun doesn’t shine? As you wish.”

Shori leaped down off the rock, landing gracefully just in front of the little dragon. She grinned. “Or rather, I’ll shove something else where the sun doesn’t shine,” she growled softly. Her eyes remained on his as she circled around him. She stopped once she was behind him and looked down at the ground between her feet, her grin widening. There were several rocks strewn about of various sizes, and there at her feet was just the one she wanted; a sharp rock no large than a human’s palm. It was time to ridicule the foolish pup. Shori grabbed the rock between her teeth, holding as little of it as possible so that most of it extended beyond her snout. She’d rather not get her mouth where the rock was going. Suddenly without warning Shori snapped her head forward, quick as lightning. That rock was going right up the hybrid’s...well, where the sun didn’t shine.

Taros shifted uneasily as the dragons gathered around them. Keeping order in such a large pack would be quite difficult, and already at least one dragon challenged Shori’s position as leader of the army. At first he was worried that Shori would make a bad move, but the ice in her voice when she addressed the pup drove the fear from his mind. Shori was taking charge; there was nothing about her that showed weakness. First she reprimanded him, then she presented viable solutions to the problems he’d put forth and now…well, Taros wasn’t quite sure what she was doing but he had the feeling the pup wouldn’t like it at all.

He shoved the matter from his mind. There were more important matters to tend to. He was Shori’s second-in-command; he had better start acting like it. While she dealt with the insubordination he would ponder solutions to some of the many problems they faced. First and most important was that they needed to keep their plans secret. No one could know more than was absolutely necessary, and NO ONE outside of the army could know what they were planning. If the humans or their pet dragons caught wind of the army they would be prepared and victory would be that much harder to achieve.

For instance, once they began their raids for gear the humans would be suspicious. It would get harder and harder to steal the gear without being caught, and security measures would certainly be taken to try and protect the gear even if the humans didn’t know who was stealing it. A worse scenario would be if the humans knew of the impending war and managed to strike the dragons before they could act. That wouldn’t do at all. Those dragons who were experts at stealth would have to act as spies and sentries, warning them of any threat to their plans. Humans tended to put their noses where they didn’t belong and were not wanted.

There was also the matter of organization and supplies. Gear would be helpful but was not necessary, unlike food and water. The dragons would need a lot of food and a ready supply of water. Perhaps there were stores in the honeycomb of caves, but Taros thought that hunting parties would have to be sent out from time to time to gather food. Keeping order…well breaking the entire army into several smaller packs, each with their own leader, would help. That alone would not be enough though. He would have to discuss a ranking system with Shori later once he could steal a private moment with her. There was no reason for any of the others to know ahead of time and he had no intention of them overhearing their discussion. In the meantime he contented himself with watching Shori humiliate the small, outspoken dragon.

Sparrow looked up at the much taller Sky-class, she seemed a pretty thing, but like all the damned dragons here she was as crazy as a rabbit on energy drinks. Something was amiss with these dragons, they were mostly twisted and vicious, which was good in a fight, but did not work in the long run. They were far to unpredictable, too, well crazy to be let loose on their own, a select few seemed to have the right set of mind for this thing and those were;

Taro, Shori and if he dared say so, himself.

"I ne'er claimed I shall stand against my own side, my path is me path, bu by usin' yer head ye'll see yer errors!" he growled out at the sky-class, he didn't know her, but he didn't like her that mucu anyway.

The white and black gazes glared at the small cretin, why does this insolent little twerp always find them? Did they have a magnetic field in their stomachs or what? The pace was picking up now, the golden dragon had leapt from her perch nad was currently speaking to the insolent little brat.

Yin and Yang watched as their leader humilated the smaller dragon, it was turining out to be a very interesting day, but still very, very annoying. Their smiles played upon their lips and watching the Golden dragon trying to shove a rock up the hybrids ass, well needless to say those grins started growing at an incredible rate. Other dragons seemed to be enjoying the show just as much as they as the small dragon desperatly tried to dodge the golden one from... well yeah.

Sparrow leapt left, but his timing was off as the sharp rock slammed into his back right leg instead. He yelped, that thing was sharp! His painfull cry stirred even more laughter from the crowds, he was turning red with anger or embaresment, one could not be sure. The hybrid spun around his eyes narrowing in anger and fury. This spurred on another fit of giggles and laughter from the other dragons.

'Okay,' he thought inwardly, 'Maybe that wasn't such a good idea,'

The Golden dragon, what was her name? Well, whatever she seemed really pissed and he was in no mood to become her side sish for the evenig, nor to have arocked shoved up his-

Well, yeah.

Her eyes were burning with some sorta flame in her eyes, woah she really doesn't like bein' taken on. Sparrow snorted and taking a deep breath to get his skin to cool down he looked at her again, but this time no sound escaped his lips. His leg was burning with the piercing by the sharp rock. Blood trickled down his right leg and pooled on the dusty ground, that was really, really burnin'.

Sparrow wasn't sure as to how to proceed, this dragon meant buisness, but no dragon, matter not how big or small would ever dominate this tiny cretin. The hybrid sniffed and bringing his head low he started to trot stifly around the inner circle of dragons. It wasn't doing much, but at least he could keep moving like this and keep an eye on the much larger and powerfull dragon a few feet away from him.

A sudden roar tore through the dusty lands, rumbling into the rocks and rubble which lay strewn across the grounds. The roar was not as intense as Shori's, no dragon not matter how hard they tried would be able to copy the Golden one's cry, but this roar still meant buisness.

A dragon, the size of, well a very dragon leapt from somewhere behind Shori's previous perch. His brown body and tuqiouse marking hinted at another Hybrid, but that wasn't what caught the eyes of the onlookers; he was titanic, about thrice the size of any other dragon in the circle. When he landed the earth shook, his mouth agape the much larger dragon roared right into the face of the Golden one. His body being very bulky but lithe at the same time. The new dragon's eyes burned with a deep anger and fire.

Sparrow looked up, the new dragon having landed right above his head, he glared softly at the Titan;

"Bloody took ye long enough" he hissed at the giant.

His eyes reverted back to the leader of the new pack and Sparrow barely surpressed the urge to sneer and laugh "This is Hyghbyrd," he said coldly as the new dragon nodded, it was apparently obvious that this dragon didn't seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed, his eyes seeming a wee bit dull and dence,

"Ye can try ter shove a rock up my ass, but I doubt ye'll ge' far with him," the small hybrid continued.

The large hybrid brown dragon, known as Hyghbyrd smiled softly at the Golden one, but a soft fire still burned in his eyes. Sparrow moved towards the Golden dragon, his tail firmly clasped over his, well yeah. He tilted his head towards her and said in a whisper so only she could hear,

"Ye made ye point," he said his smile fading slightly to an embarrest expression, "I wuz no' right to take ye on in yer turf, I had no righ'" he moved in a little closer this time, "I know wha' humans can do, I've seen wha' they're capable of, I'm small and Hyghbyrds big, 'e can figh' I can sneak. In case ye have't noticed, most a these dragons are crazy ter boot, yer gonna need some more sense in her lest ye want the whole thing ter colapse" he snorted softly, "We'd like te be part a this, that's why I came, bu' I don't bow to no one,"

It wasn't a term, it was merely a fact, Sparrow was far to proud and fiery to accept any human or dragon as his master.

He had been hurt and humilated, no he was not enjoying this, inside he was burning up with embaresmant, he just hoped the dragon behind him would help in the long run of joining this pack.

In my dream, the world had suffered a terrible disaster. A black haze shut out the sun, and the darkness was alive with the screams of wounded people. A candle flickered into life, a symbol of hope for millions. A single tiny candle shining in the ugly dark. I laughed, and blew it out.

Herzfeuer has been tracking a scent he has not sensed in more than a decade. He had lost it several times, but after some serious searching found it again. The only reason he was had heard from other dragons about a vicious orange-bone in the Old City and came down to investigate. There had been other sightings of other orange-bones, but this one peaked his interest. He picked up her scent at an ambush of an red and its rider and he has been following, on and off, as Sheol would allow, for some time.

One, of the reasons, he remembered this particular scent, is he had a real crush on her when he was young. He had outgrown that, but he would like to have one of his pack and she would make an good addition to his plans, she was more like him then Sheol. But, it has been over ten years, a lot has happened since then, neither were what they use to be. He wondered if she had mellowed out any, her hatred of humans was strong the last time they met and that could be a problem.

Sheol had given him leave to seek out Wyldzerra, after telling her about her. Sheol was no fool, she would keep an eye on Wyldzerra until, she was sure about her. He chuckled at the thought of those two meeting, as he tracked down that scent with the tenacity a purple-boned. Eventually, Wyldzerra might even replace Sheol. He shrugged as he really did not care who lead, each had their assets and liabilities.

The scent merged with the scents of other dragons as they headed to a secluded part of Old City. Herzfeuer smiled as he followed, Already building a new pack, Wyldzerra?

Reaching a den, he noted that they had already left, but what interested him was the recent arrival of a new scent, gold!

He mused to himself, "So, cousin, you have added a gold-bone to your pack, well, power does seek out power - although, I am not to sure it would be a good addition."

He turned to follow the trail shaking his head not wise, cousin, too easy to track.

What further convicted him was the resounding roar that came from within.

He entered a fairly protected area of caverns. Turning a corner he saw a sight that pleased him, dragons, quite a few, with a gold-bone in the midst. He snorted and rolled his eyes at the gold-boned as he headed to the orange-boned he recognized. She was aged and showed the signs of a heard life, but still as he remembered her.

"Wyldzerra, cousin, it is good to see you, again," looking around at the motley crew of dragons, he added, "and, I see your are starting a new pack, I understand the others, but why a gold-bone, there must be better."

"I don`t make errors," Quicksand growled, narrowing her eyes and glared at the purple boned before he was promptly put in his place by Shori. The creature was obviously humiliated. She couldn`t say she felt sorry for him.

But, to her surprize, he and his friend had expressed their wilingness to join their army. Quicksand snorted and slashed her tail, wishing she could end this right then and there. But that larger dragon would have made a much formidable opponent, and she wasn`t as sure of her strength against his.

"Don`t think we'd welcome you. You might fight with us, and you might die for us, but our trust, once lost, is not easy to gain back. Be aware, that I'll be watching you and your...bodyguard. And I won`t hesitate if you decide to betray us."

Quicksand hissed and gestured with her head to a group of sky class dragons in the midst of the gathering, about seven, all of which looked very fast and skilled at their job. They carried themselves almost like a pack of purple dragons, only with a bit more personality. It was clear that this pack had a leader, and there were no mistake who that leader was, since all of them gave silent nods to Quicksand.

"I have an army of my own...And you don`t want to see us as your enemies. Even your friend here won`t be able to save you..." Quicksand glared straight into Hyghbyrd's eyes with cold anger, then snorted and walked away, without turning back.

Steel remained quiet as others spoke, his eyes dark and calculating. The sparse light in the cave illuminated him just barely, so he stood a dark shadow against the lighter stone. His tail only flickered slightly, but other than that he was motionless.

A smaller magma class approached and whispered something to Steel. The news were important, so he broke his silence and walked closer to Shori.

"It appears we have attracted some attention. My scouts have given me information that there is a number of DCS officers on the road up to the Dragon City, that had maintained their position for over two days now, and it doesn`t seem likely they are going to leave any time soon. If we take them head on, however, it is bound to draw even more attention. Other option we have is to avoid main entrances from Old City to Dragon City, if we wish to maintain an element of surprise for as long as possible."

He finished and waited for a response. He didn`t really care either way, but he believed second option was wiser. Unless, there was another one, of course.

"Why not simply... give the illusion of a single attack?" Shyam spoke up, his voice perfectly controlled. It was even, with not a trace of the hysteric mirth he felt at the idea his scheming mind had spewed forth. "Many a foolish pair have ventured close to nests, and lost their lives as forfeit. Would it not suit both the need for secrecy, and eliminate the threat?"

He took a step forward, tail slicing smoothly through the air, as he dipped his head and tilted it to one side. A gesture, he did desire, that conveyed respect and submission while proclaiming his individuality and curiosity as to the lead dragons' decision. The orange and gold seemed to dominate, but the latter obviously sought to affirm her position, whereas the former had already attained it with the assembled mass. Though the one female... her group complicated things greatly. An army could not exist within another army...

He had to resist the urge to chuckle and lick his maw. Oh, he would love to see the bloodbath that would ensue when that feisty one was taken out. Then her followers could be molded... A wave of blood lust swept through his heart, excellently redirected into crushing his claws into the earth beneath him. Perhaps he could aid that transition? Only if, however, he could gain some trust with the orange and gold. He would not defy them, not while the army rested in such a fragmented, disorganized shape. It would not do to destroy the chance for human blood by acting early... A confusing image of a young man flashed behind his eyes, and he dug his claws slightly deeper. Let them believe he was eager to be of aid, prepared to do the dirty work. Never would he let them know the apprehension that had just flitted through his frame, before being squashed by madness. Why care? No one cared.. There was no need. Blood. Yes, that's all he needed. Focus on the crimson life that he so hated, so desired and lusted for. Let that be his guide and master.

Calmly, betraying none of his twisted and jumpy thoughts, " Two less enemies to worry about..." He let his voice trail, turning his eyes aside.
